Kapalbhati

Literally translates as “skull shining breath” this purification technique is used to awaken the frontal lobe of the brain, the nerves, and nadis and cleanse the body of mucus.

It purifies by accelerating the replacement of alveolar air in the lungs which stimulates the exchange between carbon dioxide and oxygen.

Performed with a forceful exhale through the nose. The inhale is automatic while keeping the spine stable. Suitable as a stand alone practice to counter fatigue, and before meditation.

Physically : Decreases CO2 in the body, Improves metabolism, clears sinuses of blockages. The blood is made richer and all tissues of the body renewed
