Tutorial | Forming Chi

This practice is a foundational warmup in GuānJīng Method, practice as much as you like throughout your day to build spiritual connection to your heart.

The hands in Chinese medicine and Yogic tradition are believed to be direct extensions of the heart. The tension from emotional trauma can be found in parts of the hand in the form of tender, sore, stiff areas.

Find a quiet place to settle in, you can be seated or standing. Make sure you have good posture and allow yourself to deeply feel rather than think.

Outline of Activating Chi Energy in Hands

  • close eyes
  • find stillness in body
  • observe peace in the heart
  • envision light glowing from heart
  • bring hands to hover over the light
  • pulse hands away + closer to heart
  • imagine light from heart moving through bloodstream into the hands
  • bring palms then to almost touch
  • pulse hands together + farther away
  • continue to envision light from heart pouring into palms and fingers
  • see the quality of healing with the light, forming in the space between the hands
